Once Again Sisyfos

For the performance ´Once Again Sisyfos´, choreographer and dancer Mirko Guido carries and rolls a huge ball apparently made of aluminium folie, from Aros' basement to the top, and then lets it roll back down the stairs. This routine is repeated throughout the performance. The work is inspired by the myth of Sisyphus, in which a man disobedient to the gods is condemned to endlessly roll a stone up a hill and watch it roll down again. During the residency, sculptor Søren Engsted used his lung capacity to inflate the balloon, which was then covered with the mundane material of aluminium folie, creating a blurred mirror effect in which Aros's space, the performer and the public are reflected.
